After over 20 years of serving the local community, Insane Games in Street has announced its upcoming closure due to declining sales and foot traffic.

The video game store in the Crispin Centre has struggled to maintain sustainable operations in recent years as football in the precinct fell.

The owners decided to close down the shop rather than allow its struggles to impact their other locations.

The last trading day for Insane Games in Street will be Sunday, 3rd September. Importantly, this closure only applies to the Street location, and the stores in Bridgwater and Wells will continue to operate as usual.

While the store still accepts buying, selling, and part exchanges, customers can expect a more discerning selection process. The management has also clarified that there will not be a closing-down sale, dashing hopes for deeply discounted PS5 games or Pokemon cards.

After the closure, all remaining stock, fixtures, and equipment will be redistributed among the Wells and Bridgwater stores.

For those with credit notes, the management advises using them before the closure on 3rd September. If unable to, they will be honoured in the other stores until 5th April 2024. However, the loyalty points scheme will not extend to these locations.

For customers concerned about warranties on consoles and similar products, rest assured that these will be honoured at the Wells and Bridgwater stores, as long as you retain your receipt.

In response to potential queries about a future return to Street, the store's management remains optimistic, acknowledging their strong relationships with their regular customers and hinting at keeping an eye on developments in the High Street area.
