Inclusive disco offers a night to remember for SEN families

An inclusive disco designed especially with SEN children in mind is coming to Glastonbury this summer — and organisers say it could be the highlight of the holidays for families who are too often left out.
The FordHaven SEN-friendly Disco takes place on Friday 25 July at Tor Sports & Leisure, from 7pm to 8.30pm. It's open to everyone — not just children with additional needs — but has been carefully planned to offer a welcoming, accessible environment that works for those with sensory sensitivities.
There'll be limited flashing lights, lower music volume, and a relaxed atmosphere where children can be themselves without judgement. Parent and carers are welcome to stay — and join in with the dancing.
Tickets are £5, which includes soft drinks and a sweet treat, with additional siblings welcome at just £2 each. To book, email [email protected].
All money raised on the night will go directly to FordHaven's SEN Youth Club, a service that provides a lifeline for families who often find mainstream clubs inaccessible.
"For many of our young people, this is the only youth group they can access safely," said a spokesperson for FordHaven. "We know how isolating it can be for SEN families — our club isn't just fun, it's vital. It gives children a place where they're understood, and parents a chance to connect with others who get it."
The funds raised will help pay for essential supplies and resources, keeping the youth club running and supporting local families all year round.
Spaces are limited and demand is high — so early booking is strongly recommended.
"Come along, have a dance, and support something that truly makes a difference," organisers added. "For SEN families, it's more than just a disco — it's a rare chance to feel included."
