A horse and its owner were both rescued from a water-filled ditch in Godney this afternoon (June 7).

Fire crews from Glastonbury and Bath were mobilised at about 1.15pm to rescue the horse and its owner from a rhyne.

On arrival, crews used a rescue harness and a telehander to perform a lift on the horse and safely rescue it from the ditch.

The horse was left in the care of its owner and a trained veterinarian.
