A pub in Glastonbury, which has been in the same hands for more than 16 years and has a reputation for live music, has gone on the market.

The Hawthorns Hotel, in Northload Street, is being sold by Christie and Co in Bristol and is priced at £675,000.

It is not just the building for sale but the business itself, meaning the responsibility for the staff would transfer across with the sale.

The sales listing says the pub has seen a constant increase in trade since 2017 with net sales in 2019 of £424,013 excluding VAT.

The accommodation element of the business helped achieve a gross margin of 67 per cent and the net profit has been around £60,000 for the last three years.

Originally three adjoining period buildings, one a former Georgian townhouse, the Hawthorns offers a frontage onto Northload Street with separate entrances for the hotel and bar/restaurant.

The Hawthorns has been in the same hands for more than 16 years, during which time income streams from food, drink and accommodation have been developed.

The pub has a reputation for real ale and authentic food, with live music being a regular feature throughout the year.

The ground floor comprises a single bar counter serving a large trading space with restaurant and adjacent stage area for live events.

The trade kitchen is off the trading area and is visible to customers, and there is also a reception area for receiving hotel guests.

The pub has seven guest rooms including single, twin and double rooms, as well as a family room which sleeps up to six people.

There is a courtyard trade garden to the rear of the property. The hotel has use of a communal parking and delivery area to the rear for the use of the adjoining businesses.

The self-contained owner's accommodation is part of an adjoining cottage comprising of a ground floor living room, kitchen/diner, office and toilet, with three bedrooms and a bathroom on the first floor.
