Knights Fish Restaurant in Glastonbury is frying high as it makes the final cut for the prestigious Restaurant of the Year at the National Fish and Chip Awards 2024.

This Somerset gem is one of the five top contenders from across the UK, including Norfolk, Gloucestershire, Bristol, and Devon, all vying for the esteemed title.

This recognition comes as a result of rigorous evaluations by industry experts, assessing the restaurants on their knowledge of the sector, adherence to industry best practices, and their roles as responsible employers. The Glastonbury eatery, known for its quality meals and commitment to excellence, stands proudly alongside Eric's Fish and Chips in Hunstanton, Cirencester's Malt and Anchor, Noah's in Bristol, and Pier Point Restaurant in Torquay.

Andrew Crook, President of the National Federation of Fish Friers and awards organiser, expressed his delight at the high standard of the finalists: "It's thrilling to see such dedication and quality within the industry, and Knights Fish Restaurant is a prime example of this. Their journey to the finals is a testament to their hard work and exceptional service."

Björgvin Þór Björgvinsson from Seafood from Iceland, the sponsor of the award, also praised the finalists for their outstanding contributions to the fish and chip industry. He noted their excellence in pushing the boundaries of traditional fish and chips, setting new standards for the industry.

As the competition heats up with the mystery visits segment of the judging process, Knights Fish Restaurant, along with the other finalists, will be under scrutiny to maintain their high standards and customer service. This crucial phase will determine who will be crowned the Restaurant of the Year.

The winner will be announced in a grand ceremony on 28 February 2024 at the Park Plaza Westminster Bridge in London.
