We're delighted to present this weekend's guide to local events, kindly sponsored by the King Arthur on Benedict Street.

Glastonbury has a varied and exciting array of activities to engage the community as we bid farewell to September and welcome October.

The King Arthur pub in Glastonbury is set to host the latest instalment of the Kingdom of Avalon series, an event aimed at showcasing local musicians and DJs on the 29th of February, with DJ Ninth Letta as the headline act. Entry to the Fall Ball is free, but donations are welcomed and will go toward the Glastonbury Community Studio.

If you're an art enthusiast, the Open Studios S.A.W. 2023 exhibition continues at Heart of the Tribe Gallery on High Street until 2 October. Concurrently, the Somerset Art Works: Somerset Open Studios 2023 is on display until 30 September at the Red Brick Building on Morland Road.

For those interested in the environment, the Glastonbury Climate Adaptation Training and Planning event takes place on Saturday, 30 September from 10:00 to 12:00 at the Town Hall on Magdalene Street. This is a valuable opportunity for residents to become well-versed in sustainable practices.

Later on the same day, the WTF Vegan Lunch & Social will be happening from 15:30 to 17:30 at Pyramid Vegan Cafe on High Street. It's a chance for vegans, or those interested in a plant-based lifestyle, to gather and socialise.

Music lovers have a veritable feast on Saturday evening. We Are Wild presents Sunny Davidson and Asha McCarthy at St Benedict's Church on Benedict Street from 18:30 to 21:30. Meanwhile, The Cabarats will be performing at the King Arthur from 20:00 to 23:00. If electronic music is more your scene, System 7 offers a live performance at the Red Brick Building from Saturday night into Sunday.

In addition to these, Whistling Treason will be playing at The Riflemans Arms on Chilkwell Street at 21:00, and Nasty Habits are set to rock King William Inn on Market Place, also at 21:00 on Saturday.

For those looking to get creative on Sunday, 1 October, The Big Draw 2023 offers a free day draw workshop from 10:00 to 15:00 at Abbey House on Chilkwell Street. On the same day, the Somerset Rural Life Museum hosts Cuttlefish Casting from 10:00 to 16:00.

In Street, you can catch Toy Story, and A Little Life at Strode Theatre.

Rounding off the weekend, Barney Kenny will be performing a Sunday Session at the King Arthur from 20:00 to 22:00.

Whether you're interested in art, music, social causes or simply looking to try something new, Glastonbury has a diverse mix of events to choose from this weekend.
