The Glastonbury Tribunal has officially reopened for the summer 2024 season as the town's museum and latest attraction.

This reopening is a collaborative effort between Glastonbury Town Council, the Glastonbury Antiquarian Society, and English Heritage. The museum will welcome visitors every day except Wednesdays until the end of October, with extended opening hours on Tuesdays from 12 pm to 5 pm.

An official Grand Opening is scheduled for 10 am on Friday, May 24, 2024. The event will be graced by the High Sheriff of Somerset, Rob Beckley QPM, along with representatives from all three organisations involved in the museum's operation.

The museum's main exhibit, the Lake Village Collection, showcases artefacts from the Bronze Age settlements on the Somerset Levels, which are of international importance due to their extensive dating throughout the first millennium BCE. Additionally, the museum displays the Godney Anglo-Saxon canoe, a relic from between the early 6th and 7th centuries CE used for transport.

Currently, the museum also features a special temporary exhibition that celebrates the Glastonbury Festival. This exhibition provides a glimpse into the festival's growth over the years and includes unique items such as 1970s ticket stubs and various wristbands from more recent events.

Mary-Elizabeth O'Neill, the Visitor Experience Manager for Glastonbury Town and manager of the Tribunal, expressed her enthusiasm: "I'm so pleased that we've been able to reopen the Tribunal for this summer season, as well as put on the first of many unique exhibitions expertly curated by Tim Hopkinson-Ball and the Antiquarian Society. So many locals and visitors will now be able to enjoy the building, our unique antiquities collection and beautiful garden, thanks to the hard work of our volunteers and the support of Glastonbury Town Council."

Admission is priced at £4 for adults and £2 for children aged 5-16 and students with valid ID. Members of English Heritage and the Glastonbury Antiquarian Society enjoy free entry. Season passes are available for £15 for Glastonbury residents and £20 for non-residents. All proceeds from the museum are reinvested into the town.
