A Glastonbury business owner has gone old school to shame a man who had a poo in her flowers.

Ruth Morland, who owns Glastonbury Galleries, has made the mystery pooper the star of his own advertising board and displayed it in the High Street.

She said she was disgusted to have made the find on Tuesday morning - and to have to clean up the aftermath herself - but soon realised her CCTV had captured the man responsible in the act.

"I'm horrified at the guy who did this as it was me who had to clear it up, and it took some doing too."

CCTV caught him not only in the act, but also using another plant to clean himself up.

"It became quite a farce and I then found it so funny that he had no idea that it had all been recorded," she said, adding that she reported the incident to the police on Wednesday morning.

She said the man's actions had killed off three of her plants, and wryly suggested they had died of shock.

"I went to the police saying 'I'm pretty sure peeing in public is an offence, but what about s*******?"

Ms Morland decided to go old school to shame the mystery pooper as she wanted to use the business' social media account focused on the exhibitions they are running.

  • I've heard lots of laughter from people looking at the A frame, and had a few hint at who it could be," she said.

"I really want him shamed as I really do not want him to do this again, either to me or anyone else."

If you know who the mystery pooper is, contact PCSO Mel Rowlands on 101.
