The long-awaited Glastonbury Pharmacy has officially opened its doors on the High Street, offering a much-needed boost to the town's healthcare services.

Located at 16 High Street, the new independent community pharmacy comes after months of campaigning by local residents, who have been fighting for improved access to pharmaceutical services.

Locals are encouraged to pop in and meet Ramesh and his team as they work to stock the shelves and finalise the setup.

The pharmacy is open seven days a week, with opening hours from 9am to 7pm on weekdays, 9am to 6pm on Saturdays, and 10am to 3pm on Sundays.

The need for a new pharmacy became urgent after the closure of Boots and Tesco's pharmacy in 2023, leaving the town with just one remaining pharmacy. The closures led to widespread frustration, with locals signing petitions and launching protests to demand better access to health services.

As Glastonbury welcomes this vital new service, residents can look forward to improved access to essential health services, easing the strain on the town's remaining pharmacy. For those who campaigned tirelessly, this moment marks a hard-won victory for the whole community.
