Glastonbury and surrounding communities are preparing to bid farewell to one of their own, Alan Gloak, whose funeral is scheduled for 11:30 am on Monday, February 5th, 2024, at Mendip Crematorium.

Alan, a former Mayor of Glastonbury, passed away peacefully at his home on Friday, December 29th, 2023, at the age of 81.

In accordance with Alan's wishes, the service will be non-religious and conducted by Councillor Ed Fordham, a close friend and political colleague.

To accommodate those who cannot attend in person, the funeral will be live-streamed, and electronic orders of service will be available. Physical copies will be sent out post-event upon request.

Following the service, a celebration wake for Alan will be held at The Lion in West Pennard, starting at 1 pm. This gathering is open to all who wish to pay their respects and celebrate Alan's life.
