Glastonbury in Bloom poster competition winner announced

In the autumn of last year, the Glastonbury in Bloom Committee launched a poster competition which was open to all schools in the town.

There was good entry of designs and these were judged by a representative from Dicketts the Stationers and art material suppliers in Glastonbury, who kindly sponsored the prize of a selection of art materials for the winning entry, and Brigid Crome, the landlady of the Becketts Inn, Glastonbury, whose late husband was the great, great grandson of John Crome, a founder of the Norwich School of painters.

The picture shows winner Freya De La Bedoyere, age 10 from St Benedict's School, with a framed copy of her poster which was presented to her by Gerald Morgan and Mark Penton, joint co-ordinators of Glastonbury in Bloom.
