Firefighters from Glastonbury have helped rescue a horse stuck in a drainage ditch.
Crews from Glastonbury Fire Station and a specialist rescue team from Exmouth were sent to the scene in Wedmore shortly before 8.30pm yesterday (Thursday, July 14).
Firefighters set to work controlling the distressed animal's head as they prepared to lift it out of the rhyne.
A Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service spokesperson said: "Fire crews from Glastonbury were mobilised following a call to control reporting a horse in a rhyne.
"Upon arrival crews got to work controlling the horses head whilst formulating a plan with specialist rescue firefighters from Exmouth.
"During the incident crews used a telehandler and strops.
