A Glastonbury chip shop is in the national spotlight once again after being named among the UK's best takeaways.

Knights Fish & Chips has made the 40‑strong shortlist for Takeaway of the Year at the National Fish & Chip Awards 2026. It follows the shop's previous win in 2024 when it scooped the top restaurant prize.

Judges are assessing food quality, hygiene, customer service and sustainability. The top 40 will be narrowed to 20 and then to a final 10 before the overall winner is revealed at a London ceremony in February.

Knights is the only Glastonbury takeaway on the shortlist. Its latest nod puts it in competition with leading fish and chip shops from across the UK, from city centres to the coast.
