Glastonbury area roadworks for week commencing December 14

Ultrafast broadband provider Truespeed is planning two sets of temporary traffic lights on the B3151 from Meare to Westhay this week.

From Tuesday (December 15) to Thursday (December 17), the company is scheduled to be connecting a chamber to a pole so plans to use the lights on Westhay Road, Oxenpill.

Then, from Friday (December 18) to December 22, the firm is set to be using temporary traffic lights on Main Road, Westhay, while it clears a blockage at a pole bend.

Also, the closure of Ashcott Road, in Meare, for Complete Telecom Solutions, on behalf of Truespeed, to clear blockages, a duct and cabling is set to be lifted on Friday.

Other roadworks in the Glastonbury area that are due to be in place this week include:

From Monday (December 14) to Friday, Somerset Highways are scheduled to be undertaking jetting works on the B3151 St Mary's Road in Meare.

From Monday to Wednesday (December 16), temporary traffic lights are planned on the A39 Hartlake Straight, Glastonbury, so BT can build a chamber and duct.

The closure of Northload Street, in Glastonbury, to enable Bristol Water to repair a burst water main is set to last until Tuesday.

The multi-way temporary traffic lights in Northload Street from the junction with Manor House Road to the junction with Paradise Road in Glastonbury for BT to install poly ducts, are set to remain in place until Wednesday.

From Monday to December 29, Bristol Water is scheduled to be working on an exploratory trial hole pit prior to the construction of a new water main on the A361 Bere Lane, in Glastonbury.

Finally, Western Power Distribution's work to repair a cable fault in Benedict Street is set to be completed on Wednesday.
