If your LinkedIn scroll has turned into a full-time hobby, there are fresh openings in Glastonbury and Street that might tempt you back into the job hunt.
From early years and education through to kitchens, warehouses and estates management, there is plenty on the board this week.
One of the standout opportunities comes from St John's Infants' School and Jumping Johns Nursery, who are recruiting a Level 3 nursery practitioner – maternity cover. The fixed-term post runs for 27.25 hours a week during term time only, starting this December, supporting their Early Years team in a warm, inclusive setting in the heart of Glastonbury. The nursery offers high-quality care across the Early Years Foundation Stage, with a strong focus on creativity, curiosity and supporting children with a range of needs.
In Street, Chartwells is hiring a head chef – Millfield School, leading a busy school kitchen with benefits including free meals and pool access. Meanwhile, secondary schools are also recruiting: an MFL teacher post is available in Glastonbury on a two-term contract starting in January, and a broader primary teacher role covers Somerset schools for those confident across the key stages.

If your talents are better suited to the poolside, Fusion Lifestyle is looking for a casual swimming teacher – Street, with set after-school hours and several vacancies for qualified instructors.
Hospitality roles are making a strong showing too. The Loft in Street needs a seasonal kitchen assistant for evening and weekend shifts over Christmas, while Whitbread is after a grill chef – Glastonbury Brewers Fayre to help keep pub classics flowing through the festive season.
Warehouse work continues to be in demand locally. The Best Connection is advertising for a warehouse operative (nights) in Street and a standard warehouse operative for day shifts.

For those with a technical background, BDS is seeking a stock condition team leader to work across Somerset from a Glastonbury base, while an estates compliance surveyor role in Street offers a permanent spot overseeing statutory checks at a large school estate.
Rounding things off, TWC Home Improvements in Street is looking for an assistant window and door fitter — a good entry point for anyone keen to learn the trade on the tools.
