Glastonbury and Street crime figures show May rise

Glastonbury Town recorded 123 crimes in May 2026, while Street recorded 91, according to the latest monthly crime statistics. The figures compare with 124 crimes in Glastonbury Town and 63 in Street during April 2026.

The statistics note that it can take up to 30 days for the previous month's figures to become available. They show Glastonbury Town staying broadly level month on month, while Street saw an increase of 28 recorded crimes between April and May.

In Glastonbury Town, anti-social behaviour was the largest single category in May, with 24 recorded crimes. Shoplifting followed with 25, while violent crime accounted for 36 offences and public order for 14.

Glastonbury's May total also included 11 criminal damage and arson offences, six other thefts, three vehicle crimes, two burglaries, one drug offence and one other crime. Compared with April, violent crime fell from 47 to 36, while shoplifting rose from 18 to 25.

Street's May figures were led by violent crime, with 39 recorded offences. Burglary rose to nine offences, compared with one in April, while shoplifting increased from six to 11.

Street also recorded ten criminal damage and arson offences, nine anti-social behaviour offences, four public order offences, three other thefts, two drug offences, two robberies and two vehicle crimes. The April total for Street had stood at 63, with violent crime again the largest category at 27.

Across Glastonbury Town and Street combined, 214 crimes were recorded in May, compared with 187 in April. The biggest monthly shift was in Street, where the overall figure rose by more than two-fifths from April to May.

The figures are a snapshot of recorded crime for the month and do not include further detail about individual incidents, outcomes or whether any offences are linked. No further information about suspects, charges or investigations was included in the statistics supplied.
