Gastro Glastonbury - food festival proves popular in town
Glastonbury foodies were out in force for the Little Eat:Festival.
More than 20 traders displayed fresh, local produce and there was music and street entertainment, to the delight of visitors at the event.
They included Mendip District Council's portfolio holder for corporate services and projects, Cllr Liz Leyshon, pictured with founders of the Eat:Festivals Bev and Sarah Milner Simonds.
Cllr Liz Leyshon, said: "I had a fabulous morning.
"It was great to see such high quality food and drink suppliers trading in the town centre. So many local people and visitors to Glastonbury showed their support for the event and made the most of the sunshine."
Sunshine is not on the menu for the festival this Sunday as the Little eat:Wells, which was to be held at Cathedral Green, on Sunday July 25, has been postponed to September 5 due to an extreme Met Office weather warning.
But you'll not have to wait long for another food and drink spectacular. The next Little eat:Festival is in Shepton Mallet Market Place, on Sunday August 8, from 10am to 4pm.
Mendip District Council partnered with the multi award-winning eat:Festivals team to deliver fresh produce events in Street, Glastonbury, Wells and Shepton Mallet during July and August. Mendip commissioned the event using monies from the European Regional Development Fund.
