If you've been thinking "maybe it's time for a change" every Monday morning since 2022, you're in luck – there are plenty of jobs going in Glastonbury and Street this week.

Whether you're a spreadsheet whisperer, a whizz in the kitchen, or someone who can fix things without swearing too much, there's a role with your name on it.

First up, if you enjoy your work loud, greasy and covered in hydraulic fluid, the role of Mobile Plant Fitter in Street might be the one. You'll be responsible for repairing diggers, dumpers and telehandlers across Somerset, which basically means you'll never be short of mud or job security. The job pays up to £42,000 a year, comes with a van, bonus scheme, fuel card, and plenty of training. You will need an NVQ Level 3 in Engineering, Plant, HGV or Construction and a full UK driving licence. The ability to nod thoughtfully while holding a spanner is probably also useful. Interested? You can apply here before someone else nicks it.

If your skills are more bean-counting than bolt-tightening, Glastonbury Abbey is looking for a Finance & Support Officer. It's a full-time role supporting one of the area's most historic sites, which means you can say you're helping preserve 1,000 years of history just by wrangling spreadsheets.

For those who enjoy wandering about and talking to strangers (without getting weird looks), there's a Market Research Interviewer role going in Street. You'll go door-to-door asking people questions – which is more fun than it sounds and less awful than it used to be. No experience needed, just a car, a friendly face, and a willingness to be out in all weather.

In hospitality, Street is busy hiring. Bill's is looking for a Sous Chef, so if you know your jus from your gravy and don't panic in a hot kitchen, this could be your time to shine. Alternatively, if you'd rather have a bit less pressure and a bit more training, there's a Catering Team Member role also up for grabs, complete with free meals and actual prospects.

Prefer fixing things that slide, swing, or shut? A Door and Shutter Engineer is needed to work on automatic doors, shutters, and gates. Comes with a van, healthcare, and pay for your travel time – which frankly puts it ahead of most jobs already.

If you've got a good ear – literally – there's an Audiologist role going in Street. The package includes a company car, private healthcare, and generous commission, so it's ideal for someone who wants to help people while also paying their bills.

And for anyone dreaming of glitter glue, phonics and school assemblies, there's a Primary Teacher role available in Glastonbury, covering a Year 4 class. It's your chance to shape young minds while negotiating the daily chaos of missing lunchboxes and playground politics.

Whatever your skills or interests – mechanical, mathematical, culinary or educational – the job market in Glastonbury and Street is far from boring this week. If any of these sound like your kind of thing (or you're just desperate to escape your current one), head to our jobs page and start applying. Go on. You know you want to.
