fter 19 years of keeping Street safe and connected, PCSO Elaine Cave (7912) and PCSO Bev Jackson (9629) have hung up their uniforms, and residents are already feeling the loss.

The pair have been the friendly faces behind school gate chats, community fair beacons, and late-night reassurance patrols.

Whether helping a worried parent, supporting a vulnerable resident, or offering a kind word to anyone who needed it, their impact was felt across the town.

A spokesperson for Somerset Police said: "Elaine and Bev have been the very heart of neighbourhood policing in Street, empathic, dependable, and always ready with a smile.

"Their retirement marks the end of an era for the community."

Local people have been quick to show their appreciation, with messages flooding in to thank the officers for their dedication and care.

One resident said: "It won't be the same without them. They made Street feel safer just by being there."
