The Mid-Somerset Show is back this August for another jam-packed celebration of rural life — and it's still free to enter on foot.

Held on Sunday 17 August 2025 at the showground on Cannard's Grave Road, Shepton Mallet's award-winning agricultural show promises a full day of entertainment, farming pride and family fun. From heavyweight livestock classes to vintage vehicles, cider championships to terrier racing, it's a rare one-day event where town truly meets country.

It's now the largest free-admission agricultural show in the UK (car parking costs £20), and organisers say 2025 will be bigger than ever.

What's on

This year's main attractions include the return of The Sheep Show, new breed-specific livestock classes, and the ever-popular Somerset Cider Championships.

There'll also be equestrian classes, floral displays, classic cars, cookery demos, terrier racing, and performances from the Paws for Thought Dog Display Team.

If cheese is more your thing, the Cheese Awards are back in full force, alongside trade stalls, food stands, rural craft demonstrations and Shetland pony racing. There's also a packed programme in the Main Ring and a dedicated acoustic stage offering live music throughout the day.

This year the show has teamed up with a new supplier, Advanced Mobility Hire, to make the event as accessible as possible. They'll be offering two sizes of mobility scooters and wheelchairs for hire throughout the day.
