Located in Street, Somerset, and within walking distance of Clarks Village Shopping Centre, Greenbank Pool provides a delightful outdoor swimming experience set against the backdrop of the beautiful Somerset countryside.

Whether you're planning to visit in the sunny summer months or looking for the ideal location for an evening event, here's everything you need to know about Greenbank Pool in Street for the 2024 season.

Facilities and Attractions:

  • Heated Pools: The main pool is heated to 30°C and the children's pool to 32°C, ensuring a comfortable swim regardless of the weather.
  • Picnic and Social Area: With grassy spots for picnics and trees providing shade, it's a perfect place to relax and enjoy a day out.
  • Private Hire: Greenbank Pool is available for private evening events, making it a fantastic venue for celebrations such as birthdays.

2024 Opening Times and General Information:

  • Season Duration: Open from May to September.
  • Greenbank Pool will open on Saturday 4th May 2024

Daily Operating Times:

Weekends, Bank Holidays, and School Holidays:

  • Season Ticket Holders: 10:00 – 10:30 AM
  • All Customers: 10:30 AM – 6:00 PM
  • Adults Only Swim: 6:00 – 6:30 PM

Term Time:

  • School Hire: 10:00 AM to 12:00 PM
  • All Customers: 12:00 PM – 6:30 PM
  • Adults Only Swim: 6:30 – 7:00 PM

Extreme Hot Weather (School Holidays Only):

  • Season Ticket Holders: 10:00 – 10:30 AM
  • All Customers: 10:30 AM – 5:00 PM
  • Adults Only Swim: 5:00 – 5:30 PM

Ticket Pricing:

  • Standard Admission:
  • Adult (18+): £8.00
  • Senior (60+): £7.50
  • Child (8-17): £6.50
  • Child (2-7): £6.00
  • Children Under 2: Free

Season Tickets:

Available from March 26, 2024, with special pricing for Street residents available until May 3, 2024. After this date, higher non-resident prices apply.

Prices for Street residents:

  • Single Child or Senior: £135
  • Single Adult: £145
  • Family (up to 6 members): Ranges from £260 to £320

Prices for Non-Residents:

  • Single Child or Senior: £155
  • Single Adult: £165
  • Family (up to 6 members): Ranges from £295 to £355

Parking and Accessibility:

  • On-site Parking: 22 pay and display spaces, including one blue badge space, managed by Somerset Council.
  • Additional Parking: Over 1300 parking spaces are available within an 8-minute flat walk from the pool.
  • Sustainable Travel Encouraged: Visitors are encouraged to walk or cycle, especially on busy days. A cycle rack is available outside the entrance.

Private Evening Pool Hire:

  • Host your special events at Greenbank with options for fewer than 100 people (£170 per hour) or up to 250 people (£200 per hour).

Rules and Regulations:

  • Standard pool rules apply, including prohibitions on smoking and glass containers. Music is not permitted due to the lack of a music license. The full list of rules is available on the pool's website.

History and Community Support:

  • Opened on April 30, 1937, Greenbank Pool was established to provide swimming facilities primarily for women and children. It continues to operate with support from Street Parish Council and the local community.
