The Goddess & the Green Man, one of Glastonbury's oldest pagan shops, will close after 34 years in business, owner Tyna Redpath has announced.
On the shop's website, Redpath, now 76, said the decision to end trading was personal and marked "a chapter of my life" ending.
The shop at 17 High Street will remain open until 31 January, with closure on Imbolc — 1 February 2026. Its mail order service has already ended.
The store's name and concept were born from a creative partnership with sculptor Phillipa Bowers, whose iconic Goddess pieces remain in her gallery nearby, Redpath explained. After two years, Redpath took over the business fully, securing the High Street lease in 1991 during what she described as a "creative time in Glastonbury".
Proud of being the oldest pagan shop on the High Street, Redpath said the business was always rooted in community and spirituality. She paid tribute to loyal customers, suppliers and her staff team, led by Debs Summers‑Cooper, for their support over more than three decades.
Redpath added: "We have always been rooted in community and committed to offering the very best service we can to our wonderful customers over the years. Thank you so much for your support which we have always treasured."
