The Glastonbury fire service has been out on a call of a driver trapped in a vehicle after a crash in Polsham.

The crash was called in the early hours of Saturday (December 19).

Two fire engines and a heavy rescue unit were sent to a report of a single vehicle road traffic collision at just after 5 am. On arrival crews confirmed this was one vehicle that had left the roadway and gone down an embankment, with the driver still within the vehicle.

Crews released the driver using:

Hydraulic cutting equipment

Vehicle stabilisation equipment Thankfully the casualty was then handed over to paramedics on scene.
