The annual Christmas collection organised by Glastonbury and Street Lions Club has raised nearly £500 to support local causes.

Over two days, volunteers collected £496.90 outside Morrisons in Glastonbury, with all funds set to be distributed to local groups, organisations, and individuals in need, as identified by Lions members.

To thank the supermarket for its support, three club members visited the store to present a Certificate of Appreciation to Morrisons' Community Champion, Stella.

A club spokesman said: "We are most grateful to the customers of Morrisons who were very generous with their donations, and the club would also like to thank the staff and management at the store for making us very welcome.

"Christmas is a time when we can all think about those less fortunate than ourselves, and with everyone's help, our collection will enable us to help those needing support."
