Street and Glastonbury have joined forces in the national 'Love Your Local Market' (LYLM) campaign, celebrating the essential role of markets in local commerce and community life.

Held from 17 May to 1 June 2024, the campaign highlighted local markets' unique charm and economic significance.

Each market in the region, festooned with LYLM banners, became a bustling hub where local entrepreneurs and artisans showcased their goods.

The variety of traders featured, and the quality of products on offer, is not only a reminder that these markets are a great place to go shopping, but also highlights their importance to the local economy and their contribution to daily life.

The Love Your Local Market (LYLM) campaign celebrates the vital role our brilliant local markets play in our communities, offering:

  • a unique shopping experience
  • supporting local businesses
  • fostering community spirit
  • finding fantastic produce

With over 160 traders participating across Mendip Markets, visitors enjoyed a wide array of products from farm-fresh produce to handmade crafts.
