The cause of a tent and hedgerow fire in Glastonbury this afternoon (May 11) is currently being investigated.

Just before 1.45pm today, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Control received a call to report a fire in the open in Glastonbury and mobilised one fire engine from the town.

On arrival the fire crews confirmed that there was one tent along with a hedgerow which was affected by the fire.

Crews set to work using one hose reel jet, one thermal image camera and drag forks to extinguish the fire and prevent any further escalation.

The fire service says the cause of the fire is still under investigation.
