A care worker from Glastonbury has applied her baking skills to a very good cause this week.
Jane Palmer, who works for Candlelight Care, has been baking and selling cupcakes for some time.
In her work she supports many people living with some form of dementia, and decided to bake some cupcakes to support the Alzheimer's Society's Cupcake Day.
This annual event is designed to raise vital funds for people living with the disease, and raise awareness of it.
Jane raised approximately £100 by selling the cupcakes to her colleagues and Candlelight Care has made an additional donation of £50, meaning that The Alzheimer's Society will receive a total of £150 for her efforts.
Jane said: "I chose this charity because a lot of people suffer, I see a lot of clients with this and felt that I wanted to do something to support people with this horrible disease.
"I have been practising my baking skills, and thought I could put them to use for this cause."
Candlelight Care is a family-run company offering homecare and live-in care services in Dorset, Somerset, Wiltshire and East Sussex.
With a head office in Glastonbury, it has been caring for people of all ages in their own homes for more than 30 years and its services are rated 'Good' by the Care Quality Commission.
