Got a new bike for Christmas? Police in Street are urging cyclists to get it marked before thieves get to it.
Officers are running a festive bike marking event on Boxing Day offering free security registration to help protect bikes from theft — especially those unwrapped just days earlier.
The event, dubbed "Jingle Wheels – Secure Your Sleigh!", runs from 3.30pm to 5pm on Friday, 26 December outside Street police station on High Street. Officers will be on hand to mark and register bikes, explain how it helps deter theft, and spread a bit of Christmas cheer.
Police say marking your new bike could make all the difference — especially at a time of year when thieves know shiny new cycles are on the streets.
Everyone is welcome to bring their bikes, get them marked for free, and learn more about how to keep them safe through the winter.
