Glastonbury has recorded a significant decrease in anti-social behaviour cases, with a 30% drop compared to last year's police figures.
Anti-social behaviour covers a broad spectrum of activities that cause alarm, distress or harassment to others. It can include loud music, vandalism, graffiti, littering, street drinking, and aggressive or intimidating behaviour.
The reduction in anti-social behaviour incidents is being attributed to increased patrols in the town centre to address the problem. The police have been working closely with local businesses and residents to identify areas of concern and develop strategies to tackle them.
The Glastonbury community has been encouraged to continue reporting any incidents of anti-social behaviour they may encounter through the 101 hotline or the police website. These reports help the authorities to identify patterns and trends in the behaviour, enabling them to develop more targeted and effective solutions.
A police spokesperson praised the Glastonbury community for their support in tackling anti-social behaviour.
"We are pleased to see the significant decrease in anti-social behaviour in Glastonbury Town. This progress could not have been possible without the support and engagement of the community," he said.
"We are committed to maintaining the momentum in reducing anti-social behaviour incidents in the town. We will continue to work closely with the community to identify areas that need attention and develop targeted solutions to address them."
The police are encouraging people to remain vigilant and to continue reporting any incidents of anti-social behaviour that they may encounter.
"By working together, the community and authorities can help to ensure that Glastonbury remains a safe and welcoming town for all," the spokesman said.
