Motorists in Street should prepare for delays as Brooks Road is set to close temporarily for essential maintenance work by Bristol Water. The closure will be effective from 25 July 2024 and is scheduled to last for three days, from 30 July to 1 August, operating 24 hours a day.

The closure will impact Brooks Road from 36 metres north of the junction with Ringolds Way, extending northwards for 28 metres.

A spokesperson for Somerset Council said: "We recognise that road closures can be inconvenient, but this essential work is crucial for maintaining our water infrastructure. We appreciate the public's patience and cooperation during this period."

Motorists are advised to follow the diversion route, which will guide them through Brooks Road, Middle Brooks, Overleigh, Ivythorn Road, Middle Leigh, Stonehill, and back onto Brooks Road. The diversion route spans approximately 2.71 km and is expected to add around 5 minutes to travel times.

Residents and local businesses with concerns can contact Bristol Water directly at 0345 702 3797, quoting reference number ttro868405E.
