Drivers using the A361 between Glastonbury and Shepton Mallet will face disruption as part of a long-term road closure for essential works at Whitstone Hill.

The planned works, set to start on Sunday, 5 January 2025, include pole replacement and tree cutting along an 840-metre stretch between the junctions with Top Street and Bowermead Lane, and will take place over five consecutive Sundays.

Work will take place between 7:00am and 6:00pm each Sunday, with the road remaining open at all other times.

Drivers will be diverted via Wells along the A371 on affected Sundays.

The National Grid, which is carrying out the work, has advised motorists to plan ahead. For more information, contact National Grid on 0176 140 5123, quoting reference number ttro946597E.
