Glastonbury is the place to be if you've been yearning for a weekend packed with folklore, music, and community gatherings.

On Saturday, 21 October 2023, the town will host the Glastonbury Dragons Wild Hunt, an event steeped in mythology and traditions. The day starts at 2:00 pm with Morris dancing around the Market Cross, featuring performances from various Morris troupes, including Glastonbury Border Morris and Wild Moon Morris.

Following the dance, 'The Horde', a grand parade, will move down High Street towards the Market Cross starting at 3:50 pm. Get ready for a mythical battle between the Glastonbury Red and White Dragons, backed by the rhythm of the Glastonbury Dragon Drummers. The climax of the day will be a procession to Tor Sports and Leisure Field for a ceremony at 5:20 pm, where attendees can honour their ancestors with notes added to a fire pit.

In line with the weekend's theme of community and sustainability, St Edmund's Community Hall will run a Repair Café from 10:00 am to 12:00 pm. Bring along your broken items and get them fixed, all while learning more about sustainability.

But there's more. The Somerset Rural Life Museum is hosting its October half-term activities from 21 to 29 October. Also, don't miss the Glastonbury Fairy Weekend and Avalon Fairy Fayre at the Town Hall on Magdalene Street running over the weekend.

Art enthusiasts can explore their senses with a drawing event at Glastonbury Abbey from 11:00 am to 3:00 pm on Saturday. For music lovers, St Benedict's Church will host the Sisters of the Earth Tour from 6:00 to 10:00 pm, and a special celebration of 100 years of cricket in Glastonbury will be held at Tor Sports & Leisure from 7:00 to 11:00 pm.

The King Arthur Pub, our gracious sponsor, is not to be left out of the weekend's festivities. The venue will feature the Knights of the Turntable event from 1:00 pm to 11:00 pm on Saturday. And rounding off the weekend on Sunday, the pub will host Millie Manders and The Shutup from 7:30 to 11:00 pm.

For families, St Dunstan's Church in Baltonsborough is offering a family-friendly event named Families @ 4 from 4:00 to 5:00 pm on Sunday.

Whatever your interests, there's something for everyone in Glastonbury this weekend. Come and be part of these enriching activities that make our community so vibrant.
