The outdoor show The Wonderful Wizard of Oz has been confirmed as going ahead at Glastonbury Abbey this month.

This show, from IK Productions, will start at 7pm on Saturday August 15, with pre-event ticket sales only.

Following the success of The Sword in the Stone and The Three Musketeers, IKP return with another "bonkers" theatre adventure with a new comedy adaptation of L Frank Baum's The Wonderful Wizard of Oz.

Join Dorothy, the Tin Woodman, the Scarecrow, the Cowardly Lion and Toto as they encounter munchkins, witches, winged monkeys, enchanted slippers and a Wonderful Wizard.

Expect the unexpected in this comedy for all the family, featuring physical humour, fast-paced multi-roling and plenty of laughs for all ages.

Four actors multi-role to create fast and furious comedy in an upbeat and up-to-date adaptation of The Wizard of Oz.

Set in the magical land of Oz, this production will have plenty of fascinating characters, puppetry, silly visual humour and a script crafted for the company by an experienced playwright to be self-aware and relevant for an audience in 2020.

To make sure everyone is kept safe, there will social distancing measures taken for arriving and exiting the event.

The audience area will also be set up for social distancing, and ticket sales will be limited to ensure the abbey can continue to observe the guidance and provide the safest possible event experience for visitors, performers and staff.

Doors open at 6.30pm to the 7pm show, and tickets for this abbey fundraising event are priced at adults £12, concessions £10 and abbey members £9.
