Barton St David hosted a grand Coronation party this weekend after winning a coveted party pack in a competition organisd by Co-op and Glastonbury Nub News.
The village hall committee applied for the competition to commemorate the Coronation of King Charles III, with a special event held for older people in the village hall.
Lena Oliver, who entered the competition, explained, "We ran a free live relay of the evening concert on Sunday 7th May and hope to encourage many of the community's older members to come and join us for free teas and coffees and to watch the concert with company.
"Many households in our village are older people on their own and we really wanted to bring them together in a safe place for a few hours to enjoy the concert with other villagers."
The Coronation party pack, courtesy of Co-op and Glastonbury Nub News, included various goodies such as recipes, mini-flags, celebratory chalk for street decorations, and Co-op vouchers
