Creationtide Pilgrimage along the Glastonbury Way

Churches Together in Glastonbury is organising a two-part walk along the Glastonbury Way path to celebrate the season of Creationtide (1 Sept - 4 Oct). The whole of the Glastonbury Way is about 7.5 miles and passes through areas of stunning scenery and history with spiritual significance. The walks will be held on Friday 19th and Saturday 20th September. The first section (about 4 miles) will go up Wearyall Hill, along the Brue past St Brides, and back via the Withy Walk. We will meet at the Town Hall at 10.15am for a 10.30am start, and will finish at St John's Church with a cup of tea.

The second part of the walk will begin at the United Reform Church on Saturday 20th September, meeting at 10.15 for a 10.30 start. This section is slightly shorter (3.5 Miles) but steeper. We will go up Bushy Coombe, along Paradise Lane, up Stonedown Lane, then ascend the Tor and back past the Chalice Well. We will finish with tea at the Methodist Church.

Each walk is approximately 2-2.5 hours long and challenging in places. Sturdy footwear needed. This will not be a guided tour of the Glastonbury Way, but an opportunity to reflect, to enjoy God's Creation, repent of our misuse, and commit ourselves to lives of respect for nature and all creation.
