Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a call from a member of public stating that the door of a property was on fire at the above location.

On arrival crews confirmed that there had been a fire in the doorway of this derelict property that was out on arrival of the Fire Service.

Location: Edgarley Road, Glastonbury

Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Service received a report from a member of public stating that there was a small fire within a wood at the above location.

On arrival crews confirmed that this was a fire involving a disused barn measuring approx. 20m x 8m. Further resources were sent from Glastonbury and Street.

Location: Old Bristol Road, Upper Milton, Wells.

The Fire Service were called to a report of a road traffic collision at the above location. Both fire appliances from Wells and the rescue tender from Glastonbury were mobilised to this incident.

The crew got to work extinguishing the fire with the use of 1 hose reel jet. Once all vehicles were made safe this incident was handed over to the police and the crew returned home station.

Devon and Somerset and Fire and Rescue Service received a call reporting a large barn fire at the above address.

Further calls were received stating the barn was well alight. Fire control mobilised an additional fire appliance from Bridgwater to attend the incident.

Location: Street Road, Compton Dundon

One fire engine from Somerton was mobilised to reports of a car on fire on Street Road in Compton Dundon.
On arrival crews confirmed the car was well alight and spreading to a nearby container. Crews requested a further fire engine, which was from Wells who were at Street on standby duties.
The metal container was storing two cylinders, one Oxy Acetylene and one propane cylinder and crews managed to retrieve them before they were involved in the fire. At 1307hrs crews confirmed the fire had been extinguished  using 2 breathing apparatus, 2 hose reel jets and 1 thermal image camera to check for hot spots. Crews gave assistance to one male with slight burns to his hand.
The cause of the fire was accidental causing 100% fire damage to the car and 20% fire damage to the metal container. Safety advice was given and duty of care was left with the owner.
