The former Globe Inn, Glastonbury

The future of a former pub in Glastonbury is uncertain after a planning application to turn it into an education centre and chapel has been withdrawn.

The application for the change of use from public house (use Class A4) to mixed use of educational centre and chapel (D1), shop (A1) and cafe (A3) and to build a single-storey extension with associated works at the Globe Inn, The Armoury, Magdalene Street, Glastonbury, had been made by Annabel Du Boulay.

More than 100 miles of Somerset roads will be surface dressed this summer, including some in and around Glastonbury, to improve the surfaces for motorists and prevent potholes from forming.

Somerset County Council has published a full list of every road which will be dressed up until September, including those where the work has already been completed.
