We have had enough! No doubt many volunteer groups feel this from time to time and our group has reached this point now because of a complete lack of support, respect and communication from Somerset County Council (SCC).

We have been clearing the vegetation from the cycle paths in Glastonbury for more than 18 months, which SCC has legal responsibility for – we have that in writing.

A new report out this week from Healthwatch Somerset, shows that people who receive care and support at home from the District Nursing Service, would like to see the introduction of weekend and evening visits, but many people are more cautious about the introduction of digital consultations.

The Somerset District Nursing Service (DNS) can be involved with caring for over 1,000 patients each day in their homes, helping them remain in their communities and out of hospital. As the older population in Somerset grows, so does demand for district nursing and community services; this is a key area of development for Somerset's NHS and social care providers.

Heritage Estates in Glastonbury High Street

A Glastonbury estate agent has said that, if you are looking to sell your home, now is a perfect time to put it on the market due to the Stamp Duty holiday creating competition for properties.

Mandy Kimber, of Heritage Estates in the High Street, told Glastonbury Nub News that, with the Stamp Duty holiday making homes more affordable, she is seeing a number of people being seriously interested in each home she has for sale.

Plans to build eight homes in West Pennard have been turned down by Mendip District Council.

An outline planning application for the building of up to eight dwellings (all matters reserved except access) including demolition of existing garage, stable, and annexe extension on land south west of The Post House, Newtown Lane, West Pennard, had been submitted by Mr and Mrs Bishop.
