It is with profound sadness that we announce the passing of Brian John Linham on March 12. Born on November 8, 1947, in Butleigh Hospital, Brian was a beloved husband, father, grandfather, and friend who left an indelible mark on all who knew him.

Growing up in Glastonbury and later moving to Street, Brian's early years were filled with adventure and close family ties, especially with his cherished Nan and Gramf Blake, who played significant roles in his life. A natural sports enthusiast, Brian's love for football and outdoor activities was evident from a young age.

Brian's varied career spanned from craftsmanship at C&J Clarks to the artful world of display making and finally, as a respected Heavy Goods Vehicle Driver, where his unmatched navigational skills earned him the affectionate nickname Tom-Tom.

However, it was his personal life that truly defined him. Brian's love story with Patricia O'Neill blossomed into 54 years of marriage, filled with joy, music, and the shared happiness of raising their two daughters, Laura and Erin. A proud grandfather to Jessica and Gabriel, Brian's legacy of kindness, generosity, and a keen sense of humour lives on through them.

An ardent music lover, Brian's taste for heavy metal and classic rock bands like The Who and Rolling Stones became a staple at home. His adventurous spirit also led him to embrace golf in retirement.

Brian's life was a testament to the power of love, family, and friendship. He lived fully, loved deeply, and left a legacy of laughter and warmth. As we remember Brian, let us celebrate the remarkable life he led and the countless ways he enriched ours.

He will be deeply missed by his wife Pat, daughters Laura and Erin, grandchildren Jessica and Gabriel, and the many lives he touched. Brian, you were loved so much, gone too soon, and will never be forgotten.

The funeral service will be held at the Mission Church in Street on April 8th at 11 am. This will be a time for friends and family to come together and celebrate Brian's life, sharing memories and the joy he brought into our lives.

Donations in his memory to Happy Landings Animal Rescue.
