Youngsters from Tor Rugby Club at the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup

With normality finally starting to return to the UK, it was rugby's opportunity to take centre stage this weekend as the Land Rover Premiership Rugby Cup took place.

North Dorset RFC hosted an exciting Under-11 and Under-12 grassroots developmental festival on Saturday as youngsters at last got the opportunity to lace up their boots again, with Glastonbury's Tor Rugby Club among the competing teams.

The St Dunstan's team after completing the Glastonbury Road Run

On Sunday (May 2), five members of staff from St Dunstan's School ran the 10K Glastonbury Road Run - and they have raised nearly £2,000 in memory of a former student.

They were running for a very special cause - Asthma UK - and for a very special reason - in memory of one of St Dunstan's students, Amy Thomas, who had died from an asthma attack during the October half term holiday in 2017. She was 14 years old and her loss ripped a hole in the heart of the school community.

A previous Glastonbury Road Run

The 2021 Glastonbury Road Run will be held this weekend with 900 runners taking part, but will be along a different route to make sure the race follows coronavirus regulations.

The 39th Glastonbury Road Run will take place on Sunday May 2, and will be based at Strode College Sports Centre, about a mile from the usual 10K race start, and the venue for the Street Parkrun.
