Street and District Swimming Club were in action this weekend in round 2 of the National Arena Swim League.

The club is swimming in the Premier Division this season, meaning they are often competing against much larger swim teams such as Cardiff and Poole.

However, the swimmers from Street and District showed great team spirit on the day and in a tense fight to the finish were able to overcame Cardiff to finish a superb third.

There were really strong swims from the more experienced swimmers, as well as several younger club members making their Arena League debut.

The result places Street and District securely into the B final for the next round. This is a really impressive result against much larger teams and demonstrates the depth of talent in the Street and District squad.

Street and District Swimming Club is one of the largest and most successful clubs in Somerset. The club aims to teach and coach swimming to a high level of competence and to enable children to enjoy a competitive swimming programme.

Currently there are about 150 swimmers in the club ranging from pre-competitive level up to National qualifiers.

The club swims at Strode Fitness and Leisure Centre and at Millfield School, both in Street. It welcomes new members, so if you would like to join or make an enquiry, get in touch via the red button below.
