Glastonbury Foodbank has received hundreds of pounds from the local Lions Club

An organisation in Glastonbury that is providing a vital service during the coronavirus pandemic has received hundreds of pounds from the local Lions Club.

Glastonbury and Street Lions Club has donated £400 to the Glastonbury Foodbank, along with both Street Foodbank and the Street Baptist Church Meals on Wheels service, who have both received the same sum.

5G is the fifth generation of mobile phone technology

One of the members of Glastonbury's 5G Advisory Committee has spoken out about why he resigned before the group's report was published.

David Swain was one of four members who resigned, claiming that scientific fact was not being acknowledged by some on the committee, but chairman Jon Cousins insists that he would have preferred if the quartet had stayed in the committee to help provide robust arguments.

A road in Glastonbury is set to be closed for roadworks, as crews step up their return to work following the easing of the coronavirus lockdown.

Cinnamon Lane is due to be shut for a day at some point between Tuesday (May 19) and June 1, depending on the roadworks crew's schedule which is being kept flexible at this time.
