The British Biology Olympiad certificates

A student from West Pennard has been successful in a competition run by the Royal Society of Biology, designed to test students' wider knowledge of the subject.

Thomas Hewitt was one of the Year 2 A-level students at Strode College in Street who achieved top results in the British Biology Olympiad earlier in the year and they have just received their certificates.

Plans have been submitted to Mendip District Council for an increase in size of the shop at Wirral Park Service Station in Glastonbury.

A planning application for a proposed single-storey extension to the side and rear of the sales building with car wash lane modifications and canopy raised to 5.1 metres at Wirral Park Service Station, Wirral Park Road, Glastonbury, has been made by Motor Fuel Group Ltd.

Street Parish Rooms

Glastonbury building contractors Melhuish and Saunders will start work on Monday (July 6) on Street Library's new home so it can deliver more services for the residents and members.

Street Parish Council and the Friends of Street Library have been working closely with the Somerset County Council to design a new layout for the village's Parish Rooms, which will be refurbished and will be the new home for the library once the work in completed.
