The Abbey Tea Rooms in Glastonbury is one of the venues taking part in the Eat Out to Help Out scheme

People in Glastonbury will have an extra reason to enjoy dining out from today (August 3), as the government's Eat Out to Help Out scheme begins.

In a bid to boost the hospitality industry following the coronavirus lockdown, the government scheme will allow people who dine out from Monday to Wednesday during August to benefit from 50 per cent off the price of their meals, up to the value of £10 a head, with the government reimbursing the restaurant the remaining 50 per cent.

One Enchanted Evening will take place at Glastonbury Abbey

Big names from the worlds of theatre and music are joining forces in Glastonbury later this month in a unique collaboration to bring the performing arts out of lockdown.

As many theatres remain shut and festivals are cancelled until next year, Somerset will showcase its best professional talent at a star-studded evening among the famous ruins of Glastonbury Abbey.
