Some of the presents being gathered at St Dunstan's School

Staff at St Dunstan's School in Glastonbury have been co-ordinating efforts to get presents to children in the town who may not otherwise receive gifts this Christmas.

Earlier this month, staff at the school put a post on their Facebook page that invited those who needed a little help with gifts to contact the school in confidence so that donations could be gathered, wrapped and delivered.

Firefighters from Glastonbury were in action when a vehicle was deliberately set on fire following a crash in between Stoney Stratton and Westcombe last night (December 15).

Just after 5.30pm, Devon and Somerset Fire and Rescue Control were called by the police to a vehicle fire following a road traffic collision in Westcombe Road, Stoney Stratton.

Mendip District Council has selected national property consultancy, Carter Jonas, on a new mandate pursuing energy investment opportunities to drive commercial return and help support the delivery of its climate emergency objectives across the area.

In September, the authority launched a procurement process seeking an experienced consultant to advise on energy projects that protect the authority's medium-to-long-term financial position and enable it to meet its strategy as set out in its Corporate Plan.
