Patient transport service for Glastonbury is recruiting

Working in partnership with its NHS Trust Partners, E-zec delivers a free, non-emergency transport service for eligible patients in Glastonbury and the rest of Somerset.

It is a nationwide company, employing more than 1,400 road and office personnel, however its local contract has a team of more than 70 people who are either based at either Evercreech or Wellington.

Working out of Somerset hospitals, the firm's primary focus is to ensure that local patients have suitable transport available to enable them to attend their medical appointments.

If an individual is bed bound, or doesn't have their own transport available, this service is hugely beneficial.

In addition, the support can directly benefit hospitals by returning recovered patients home, and freeing up bed space for new patients.

A spokesperson for E-zec said: "We consider ourselves to be very fortunate to have highly committed Ambulance Care Assistants (ACAs) locally, delivering the very best patient care.

"While this role is highly rewarding, it can be challenging and no two days are the same. Our drivers play a duel role in both transporting and caring for patients, ensuring that the journey is efficient and as comfortable as possible.

"Prior to going out on the road, our ACAs take part in a two-week training period.

"The training covers first aid, complex manual handling manoeuvres, safeguarding processes, driving and much more. Following training, new ACAs are crewed with experienced ACAs.

"If you are a caring individual, with a passion for delivering excellent service, we would love to hear from you.

"We have a number of Ambulance Care Assistant roles available which will be based out of Evercreech.

"Due to the nature of the role, you will need to have a full driving licence, with no more than three points.

"The company will also complete an enhanced DBS check on you, and will require references covering the previous five years."
