Fire crews from Glastonbury and Street were called out yesterday (December 21) to a woman trapped in her car following a crash in Meare Road.

At just after half past five in Glastonbury the crews were mobilised to reports of a collision with reports that people were still trapped in their cars.

On arrival crews discovered a single vehicle road traffic accident with one female still inside the vehicle. The vehicle had left the roadway and headed into a ditch.

Crews extricated the female by removing the passenger door.

Crews used hydraulic cutting equipment and small tools.

The female was left in the hands of the ambulance service.
