This amazing video of the Dorset and Somerset Air Ambulance landing on Glastonbury Tor was captured by Mark Skinner yesterday (September 4).

The unusual sight happened yesterday afternoon when the helicopter was scrambled to help rescue a woman who had injured her ankle.

Paramedics also attended who arrived by road, and they had the unenviable task of climbing the Tor with all their medical gear.

Mark told Glastonbury Nub News: "We saw the air ambulance buzzing round and we were on our way up to the Tor.

"We were surprised to see it land up there."

At the time of writing, the condition of the woman who injured her ankle is not known, but Glastonbury Nub News has approached the South Western Ambulance Service NHS Foundation Trust for comment.

A project to help in medical emergencies on the Tor saw Heartstart Somerset install a defibrillator earlier this year, but this was delayed following vandalism.
