Motorists travelling between Street, Somerton, and Yeovil are advised to plan their journeys carefully, as urgent roadwork takes place on the B3153 near Littleton/Compton Dundon.

The road will be closed for essential repairs following recent flood damage.

The closure is scheduled for today (Tuesday, 19th December) and tomorrow (Wednesday, 20th December), from 9:30 am to 4:00 pm on both days.

This temporary measure is essential to ensure the safety of the road following the extensive damage caused by the recent floods.

A diversion will be in place during the closure period. Motorists are advised to follow the signed diversion routes. The specific details of the diversion can be found on the council's website at https://bit.ly/3S4qguP.

The diversion is designed to minimise disruption and ensure a safe route for all road users.

Residents and commuters are encouraged to allow extra time for their journeys and to plan their routes in advance.

The local authorities apologise for any inconvenience caused by these essential repairs and thank the public for their patience and understanding during this time.
