UPDATE: A361 remains closed near Glastonbury and driver taken to hospital after two-vehicle crash

Emergency services remain at the scene of a collision involving two vehicles on the A361 Edgarley Road, near Glastonbury, which was reported at 6.37am today (Thursday October 21).

One of the drivers involved has been taken to hospital. A road closure is in place while enquiries are carried out at the scene and motorists are advised to seek alternative routes.

Anyone who witnessed the collision is asked to call 101 quoting log 143 of October 21.

Fire crews from Glastonbury and Street attended the incident alongside the supporting police officers.

Once on scene, crews confirmed a two-vehicle crash with one vehicle having left the roadway and ending up in the hedge with a person trapped inside.

Crews got to work using hydraulic rescue equipment to extricate the casualty alongside the ambulance service.
